The atmosphere of a classic Italian restaurant was perfect. The food was fabulous and the staff was amazing, even helping celebrate my husband’s birthday. This place is not to be missed!!!

Such a beautiful atmosphere - like eating in a family dining room. The food was spectacular, you would walk past this place all day long, no fancy lights or outdoor seats, just amazing food!

This is the fourth time I have eaten here. It is always the first place I go for dinner after I arrive in Rome. It is a friendly neighborhood restaurant away from the typical tourist destinations. The food is always excellent and the service is always friendly.

Very authentic Italian restaurant with great food and service. Don’t expect any of the service staff to speak English here, and have your Google translate ready. We enjoyed our meal. The antipasto is a meal in itself so be warned! It came with nine different traditional Italian starters. The dishes it came on took up our entire table. The server had to place some of the food on the table next to us (and there were only two of us eating all of this food). We had the spaghetti carbonara and the cacio de pepe. Both were excellent with plenty of flavor and the pasta was cooked to perfection. Unfortunately because of the overwhelming antipasto dish, we could both eat only half of our meal. Before we could ask for to-go boxes, our waiter who was quite a character, scooped up our plates and off they went never to be seen again. We had a bottle of the house white wine, which was delightful. When we responded in the negative when asked if we wanted dessert, we got a frowny face from our server. He returned a few minutes later with a basket of what I think was biscotti or something similar, and a bottle of liquor (maybe Amara). He poured about the amount of a shot into two glasses and showed us how to dip the biscotti into the Lacore to enjoy it. We obliged, but honestly, we were so stuffed from our meals that we couldn’t eat that much. He continued to fill up our glasses with the La car and really encouraged us to finish the biscotti. We ate what we could, but had to stop about halfway in. The only reason I gave a rating of a 4 instead of a 5 was because our bill was $20 more than we expected. We understand many restaurants in Italy charge fees for different things, but we accounted for those when adding up the bill in our head. We made a mistake of tapping our card on the payment machine before truly understanding what we’d been charged for. All in all I’d recommend this restaurant and will go back. I’d just advise to check your bill before paying.

An amazing establishment. Quality food and service. This was our third visit in 2 years and was the highlight meal of this trip. Traditional food with an atmosphere to match. Wow!

A Roman restaurant filled with locals rather than tourists, and the classic Roman dishes we had (saltimbocca, stewed oxtail, pasta arrabiatta, etc.) were prefect examples of Rome's best. The ambiance is "old school" and reminded me of the first Roman restaurant I dined in 40 years ago. It is on a small and quiet street yet not far from the overly touristic Piazza Navonna.
