Tradizionale cucina Bolognese sempre al Top! Ottima carta dei vini
had intended this dinner to be the climax of our culinary experiences in Bologna. Alas, it was a highlight, but not as I had anticipated. Prior to our arrival, my partner looked at the menu. His remark was, 'It's very long - not a good sign. Better that they do a few things well than try to be all things to everyone.' When we arrived, we were shown to our table, and abruptly asked 'Still or sparkling?' before we had even had a chance to sit down. We chose the food: I opted for fried calamari, followed by a fish mixed grill. He chose prawn carpaccio and spaghetti vongole. Having reviewed the wine list (and being disappointed that some of my choices were marked as unavailable, I selected a local white. The first course arrived very quickly. We were simultaneously told that our choice of wine was unavailable. It is nice to enjoy a little wine before dining, but that pleasure was denied us. The replacement wine choice was admittedly served quickly; however, that reflected the general rush of the restaurant. I was not left feeling that there were enough waiting staff for the number of covers. The ice bucket was full of ice, but no water, which is standard to properly chill wine. Back to the food. My partner's prawn carpaccio was still partially frozen, and led to him suggesting that they buy in frozen disks. In contrast, my calamari was excellent. As regards the next course: my mixed fish grill was partially cold and partially overcooked. The white fish was good, but the langustine practically inedible. My partner's spaghetti alla vongole was cold. A cold pasta dish in Bologna, of all places. I had ordered a side dish of spinach, which could have fed a family of four. It was good and hot, but mostly wasted, alas. At the end of the meal, when we declined dessert, we explained our misgivings to the waiter. I don't think that he understood the multiple problems. What a disappointment! For a restaurant charging so much, you'd be better taking your money elsewhere.

Tutto ottimo, cucina di grande qualità e nel rispetto della migliore tradizione bolognese. Servizio davvero impeccabile, straconsigliato!

Ristorante ottimo dove gustare pesce fresco ben preparato e specialità della cucina bolognese. Servizio attento e grande gentilezza come è difficile purtroppo trovare altrove. Locale di classe che non dimentica il lustro del passato senza essere démodé. Da provare per chi ancora non l’ha fatto.
This is an institution in the Bolognese food scene so you can be sure of getting the traditional food but also something different. I went for fish tartare (tuna, scampi and ricciola) which was delicious and then for an amazing paccheri with lobster. The restaurant maintains a pleasant cozy atmosphere and the service is very attentive. In a few words, not to be missed if you are in Bologna.
Semplicemente fantastico! Atmosfera di rilassata eleganza, clientela giovane e chic. Tradizione e assoluta qualità con staff professionale, discreto e molto affabile, di una gentilezza e di una eleganza naturali. Il cibo poi davvero di livello raro. Abbiamo assaggiato sia la cucina tradizionale sia il pesce crudo freschissimo e servito a temperatura perfetta. Tornerò prestissimo.
I discovered Rodrigo thanks to a recommendation of a trusted friend from Bologna. The tortellini were spectacular and so was the cotoletta Bolognese style. My dinner guest ordered fish and thought it was of the best quality. Execution is impeccable and service very attentive. Strongly recommended for a first-class Bologna cuisine experience.
La Ristorazione con la R maiuscola Siamo passati a Bologna per lavoro con la mia compagna e dopo alcuni suggerimenti di amici “local” abbiamo deciso di provare il più vecchio ristorante Bolognese (1949!!!) Mai scelta fu più azzeccata! Ambiente raffinato ma confortevole, camerieri cordiali e discreti, e finalmente una cucina d’eccellenza senza fronzoli! Insalata di carciofi ottima, crudi di pesce eccezionali e una pasta con i calamaretti veramente gustosa! Merita sicuramente almeno una visita se siete di zona
Un classico di Bologna, sempre piacevole tornare da Rodrigo e gustare l'ottimo pesce alla griglia e la cucina tradizionale bolognese! Servizio accogliente ed attento ed una selezione di vini davvero invidiabile. Tra i primi tre ristoranti di Bologna, senza alcun dubbio.
