We stopped at Osteria Il Granaio on our way from Florence to Montepulciano, and it felt like walking onto a Wes Anderson set. The town was quiet and picture-perfect in the low season. It is clearly a family-run gem; the father and son made us feel incredibly welcome immediately. We followed their suggestions for dinner, and we are so glad we did. The T-bone steak (cooked rare) was the absolute highlight. It was seasoned simply with just salt and pepper, letting the incredible quality of the meat shine through. We also had a bottle of local red recommended by the son—it was fragrant, beautiful, and a perfect balance of quality and value. The atmosphere was pure magic. At one point, a calico cat wandered in, meowing for dinner, and we could hear the mom chatting to it from the kitchen. It was an authentic, unscripted Italian moment I’ll never forget. Highly, highly recommended.

Da provare assolutamente! Ambiente curato e piacevole nel centro storico di rapolano. il personale ed i proprietari sono stati super gentili e accoglienti. Ma la cosa migliore sono stati i pici al ragù bianco!♥️

Il Granaio Is certainly one of the best restaurants in Tuscany. The menu is not so elaborate but that makes it possible to have the freshest ingredients and the dishes are very special with emphasis on (shell)fish. We have visited the place so many times and each time there are new “compositions” next to the old “hits”. The winelist is super with quality wines for a decent price. All in all a super place for romantic dinners and dinners with friends and/or family. The chef must get at least one star but more are also fair. We love the place Carla and Philip

Locale accogliente, personale SUPER. Tempistiche tra le portate giustissime, attenzione ai modi, dettagli sulla scelta del vino…insomma una certezza! Ci ritorneremo sicuramente!

Osteria inserita in un antico borgo arroccato sulle colline di Siena. Molto piacevole il contesto e il cibo. Da ritornarci presto.

Ho pranzato all'interno. Il ristorante è arredato con gusto ed illuminato con grande cura. Ciò è particolarmente importante nel caso del Granaio perché la luce naturale è estremamente limitata. Ottimo il cibo, d'impronta locale in netta prevalenza, ma con ingredienti di alta qualità e cotture attente. Adeguato e non esagerato il prezzo. Ampia scelta di vini (rossi, in particolare). Molto cortese e puntuale il servizio. Attento senza essere invadente. Lo consiglio senza dubbi.

Absolutely one of the best dining experiences we had during our 2-week trip around Italy. The owner and our waiter were so kind, welcoming, and helpful. We liked the wine our waited recommended so much that we bought two bottles to take home. Cannot recommend this place enough and can't wait to come back next time we visit. Grazie mille!

Memori delle volte precedenti siamo tornati ed abbiamo trovato il locale piacevolmente rinnovato con ottimo gusto dai simpatici proprietari. Il cibo è superlativo come sempre. Da segnalare i maltagliati bianchi e verdi con ragù di chianina ed il peposo (semplicemente fantastico). Alla prossima 😊
