Tucked away in the quiet countryside, Donna Maria is a hidden gem that offers an authentic and unforgettable culinary experience. The location is beautifully immersed in the campagna, yet conveniently close to town — the perfect balance of rustic charm and accessibility. We decided to try all of the appetizers, and we’re glad we did — every single one was outstanding. From the first bite, you could taste the care and tradition behind each dish. Everything is homemade, and the flavors are a true celebration of Salento’s rich culinary heritage. We then moved on to the two types of pasta featured on the menu — both were absolutely delicious, freshly made, and perfectly executed. To complete the meal, we had a selection of meat dishes, which met (and even slightly exceeded) our expectations in terms of quality and taste. I’ve also tried the fave and cicorie which it was one of the best I’ve ever had so far. What really makes Donna Maria special, beyond the food and the setting, is the warmth of the people. The waiters and waitresses were kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The owner was present and clearly passionate about what they do, adding a personal touch that made us feel like guests, not just customers. With locally sourced ingredients, heartfelt hospitality, and a serene atmosphere, Donna Maria is more than just a meal — it’s an experience we’ll definitely come back for.

Absolutely loved the restaurant- just outside of town. Very nice setting, lovely welcome and excellent food. Traditional with modern twist. A perfect meal !
