We have been in Italy for 17 days and eaten MANY delicious meals, but this was “hands-down” our favorite!

Our best meal in Rome! Such inspiring and delicious food.

The food was good and the owners very nice:) Although we misunderstood that it was a tapas-type of menu.

The food was amazing, the staff was very attentive, and the decibels were lower than many restaurants. I alerted them that I was vegetarian and they made sure to make me feel welcome. Highly recommend!

Exceptional combination of flavours - chicken thighs in rosemary and olive, courgette slices in mint with roast potatoes. Perfect with the house red. Superb meal.

The meal began well, nice table, classic menu and a good, reasonable wine list. Starters were lovely (tuna and Aubergine parmigiana). After that everything went downhill. Waiter brought 2nd course so quickly our starter plates were still on the table, just finished. The lamb chops were over cooked and tasteless and the cacio e pepe very bland.

La Taverna dei Fori Imperiali in Monti is a gem for those craving authentic Italian cuisine near the Colosseum. The friendly staff promptly seated us for a delightful Saturday lunch. We started with delicious eggplant and artichoke appetizers, followed by equally impressive veal and pasta dishes. Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience that left us satisfied and eager to return. Grazie for the delightful lunch!

Es wäre alles perfekt gewesen, wenn man nicht ab einem gewissen Zeitpunkt das Gefühl gehabt hätte, sie möchten den Tisch nochmal verkaufen. Ab dann wurde leider etwas gedrängt! Ansonsten war der Service und das Essen eigentlich sehr sehr gut. Die besten Carbonara, die wir in unserem Leben je gegessen haben!

We tried a few appetizers as the main dishes were mostly meat/fish. Everything we tried was really good.

It was one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Rome. The food was delicious, the wine was incredible, and the service was amazing. Our waitress was so knowledgeable and gave fantastic recommendations. I highly recommend stopping here for a meal!

One of best experiences we had in Rome. The veal meatloaf is simply to die for. This is on the top 3 things I have ever eaten. We ended up eating here back to back nights. Wonderful staff, simply awesome food. A must visit.

The male waiter for our table pretty ignorant and rude. Food overpriced for what it was. Would not recommend it at all. Really disappointing evening

Ordered the ravioli with burrata and anchovy, and the gnocchi with veal ragout, both of which were good, although the ravioli was a bit hard for our taste and could’ve been cooked a little longer. There were two waiters (an Asian guy and an Italian guy with glasses) who were a bit rude, but the two who we presumed were the owners/managers (Italian guy with slicked-back grey hair and a brunette woman with short hair) were very friendly, hospitable and helpful. Good dining option near the Colosseum.

Amazing ambience, warm welcome, delicious food and wine with lots of GF options. We booked again for our final night in Rome.

fabulous place! went there on a recommendation so booked well in advance, they were fully booked on the saturday night we went there. very attentive and friendly service and the food and wine were wonderful too

Exceptionally good restaurant that never fails to impress, delicious food and lovely atmosphere. Service can be a bit challenged as they are always full, and some staff not as cheerful as management. But always my first, second and sometimes third port of call when in Rome.
