Extremely over priced expensive tourist trap. There are so many great restaurants in Italy. Don’t bother with this place.

Good staff & service, nice dishes and wine, we really enjoyed our lunch.

Welcome was friendly and warm on arrival. Menu was well explained and we chose some local fish dishes that were recommended. We ate well and had a glass of wine each. The food was good - if not exceptional. The service was good - if not exceptional. The price was high - certainly exceptional. I would probably not come back - but still a ‘good’ review overall.

The food was excellent and the service was over-the-top. It could not have been better. Prices, however, were a bit too high.

Did not disappoint. If you’re a fish, seafood lover this the place. Oysters, Sardines Venetian. The spaghetti vongole classic (in tomato sauce) took me straight back to my childhood by the beach in Pescara. Definitely going to be our restaurant in Venice every time here. Staff friendly and accommodating.

We were only in Venice for 2 days so asked the Concierge (Hilton Stucky) for a lunch recommendation and directed to Do Forni......and loved it so much we went back for lunch the following day! Tucked away just a few minutes from San Marco, you can see why its still going strong 50+ years since it was founded in 1973. Even though we had a last minute reservation for 2.30, the restaurant was full, given a great table, immaculate service, great food (seafood counter as you enter the restaurant) and very reasonable given its location and quality of the food/experience. Highly recommended, and we will be sure to return when we visit Venice again in May!

A little bit too expensive experience, even if it was for the last year's dinner, in my personal opinion, it had been too expensive. In addition - 1: No one explained to me how it was supposed to go. In addition - 2: at end of dinner,I got juste the bank transaction bill, no detailed bille nor fiscal bill... therefore I simply suppose that it was a tax free dinner. Regards

Wow what a fun filled and family friendly restaurant - took my 21 and 18 year old and danced in the new year. Food ok, expensive but a night we will never forget! Best night out 2023!

Magnifique restaurant avec une très bonne cuisine. Produits frais et copieux. Personnel extrêmement compétent. On peut juste regretter la disparité entre les salles. Certaines font salle de kermesse et d'autres sont des salons magnifiques. Il faut avoir la chance de tomber dans une salle plaisante ou bien de négocier une autre table

Pranzo davvero fantastico. Incomprensibili davvero le recensioni negative da 1 a 2 stelle. Mi stavano ingannando a non prenotare in questo fantastico ristorante che ti cala in un ambiente molto storico e conviviale. Qualità del cibo davvero ottima con un punto esclamativo sulle ostriche. Carta dei vini da capogiro. Unica nota un po' sofferente il costo, ma per questa qualità sicuramente vale la pena. Personale molto cordiale e elegante. Ci tornerò sicuramente!

Food was amazing, a bit overpriced but it worth it.

The food was okay, but overpriced. There was no ambiance, and the overall atmosphere was quiet and uncomfortably negative. No one wanted to be there - customers nor waiters. The service was poor due to inattentive staff who put out the wrong cutlery. (I had to butter my bread with a fish knife!) I wouldn’t mind this so much, but there is a hefty service charge of 12%. They try to justify this charge by giving you complimentary stale biscuits at the end of your meal. Furthermore, I would describe the waiter serving us as quiet and obnoxious. Generally, it is a restaurant stuck in the past. It is stuffy, pretentious and overpriced without the quality service or famed Italian hospitality. The waiters are all old white men, with no energy or gratitude for your custom. It was like being thrust back in time to the 1930s, but in the worst way possible. Don’t go - preserve your money and patience for a worthy restaurant.

I didn’t have a pleasant experience as the portions of the food were really small and too overpriced! A starter 34 euros?! I also ordered two glasses of wine and I was given as much as one normal glass of wine and still paid way too much (nearly the price of a bottle in a good restaurant). The service was ok, but again in Venice the service charge of 12 % is compulsory and included automatically in the bill. The food quality moreover wasn’t that great! For being considered one of the best typical italian restaurants “trattoria” in Venice, I was really disappointed!

i went because a friend suggested this restaurant. I founded disappointing, food was poor for not saying bad. Service was poor, price high for the quality in general not a great experience.

Absolutely out of this world! The service is second to none. They made me & my partner feel very special. They were so attentive. They made a special effort to bring a cake & sing happy birthday to my girlfriend. The food was fabulous & although we chose to eat alone in the Orient Express room the atmosphere was great. Can’t sing their praises enough.

Non era la prima volta che ci sono andata...trattoria do forni 'e ottima...piatti squisiti, atmosfera accogliente e personale gentilissimo...ci ritornero sicuramente la prossima volta a venezia...consigliatissima!!!

E' stata sicuramente una buona serata, ho cenato alla Trattoria Do Forni con un collega all'inizio di Maggio 2018. Abbiamo ordinato due piatti di Spaghetti della Serenissima, un Gran fritto Do Forni, un piatto di Scampi giganti dorati alla Fantin, una bottiglia di ribolla gialla ed un paio di caffè. Il primo era veramente ottimo, ben cucinato, per quanto concerne i fritti, in tutta onestà senza infamia e senza lode. Ahimè la nota dolente è il prezzo, poichè comprendo la vicinanza con Piazza San Marco, ma 90€ a testa per quello che abbiamo mangiato e per la qualità (normale non eccelsa), a mio parere è eccessivo, diciamo un posto più per turisti stranieri.
