Un istituzione. Quando voglio mangiare romano verace, Flavio è la soluzione.

Carciofi alla romana buonissimi, tagliatelle ai carciofi TOP, carbonara eccezionale, crostata ricotta e visciole meravigliosa. Porzioni abbondantissime. Non vedo l'ora di tornarci.

Ristorante ubicato in una delle zone più veraci di Roma, eccelle in tutto: antipasti, primi, secondi e carta dei vini. Come antipasto abbiamo scelto carciofo alla giudia e pallotte ova e cacio affogate nel pomodoro con pecorino preparate divinamente, davvero di rara bontà. Carbonara sublime servita in porzioni generose: il guanciale era talmente croccante che scrocchiava rumorosamente in bocca. Personale attento, cordiale, mai invadente, carta dei vini superba. Esperienza culinaria fantastica, da ripetere e consigliare.

Delicious food especially the rigatoni carbonara, crostini, oxtail & short ribs. Lovely wines . Service friendly when they came but generally inattentive - we had to work to get the attention of a waitperson to order more wine, get the check, etc.

Nulla da eccepire in merito alla qualità delle specialità mangiate. Non essendo la prima volta, avrei gradito di essere informato in merito alla posizione del tavolo: abbiamo mangiato nella sala sotto il piano stradale che a livello di cura dell'ambiente e rumorosità sicuramente ha più problematiche rispetto alla sale nel piano superiore. Tutto perfetto, dal servizio alla bontà dei piatti. Interni molto belli, rispecchia molto l'osteria romana.

Era un po’ che volevo andare, soprattutto dopo l’apparizione del proprietario sui video YouTube di Italia Squisita. Porzioni e qualità non hanno deluso, quindi il suggerimento è di armarsi di un buon appetito prima di andare.

We visited some excellent restaurants during our week in Rome but this was the best in terms of the food. Service and value for money also excellent. The noise bafflers in the ceiling were really helpful as two of our party of five suffer from sensory overload issues.

Tipica cucina romana, buona qualità, buone quantità. Non il migliore rapporto qualità prezzo su Roma. Ambiente molto caratteristico, con i cocci del Monte Testaccio a vista nelle sale interne, solamente un po' rumoroso. Servizio nella norma.

Ho chiesto un maialino al forno alle 21 di sabato sera e mi hanno detto che era già finito. Ho ripiegato su una amatriciana, un piatto anonimo che avrei potuto mangiare in un qualsiasi altro posto di Roma. Un piatto senza carattere.

Fabulous food in a beautiful environment. One of our party's entrees took longer than other entrees to arrive, but the waiter was apologetic and comped the dish as a courtesy. I'd gladly revisit this restaurant.

Amatriciana SPAZIALE, dovete assolutamente assaggiarla. Carbonara un po’ sottotono, mi aspettavo meglio. I dolci sono particolare, tiramisù buono ma niente di che. Ho preso anche la Crostata con ricotta e cioccolato che era tutto tranne che una crostata. Nel complesso è un buon ristorante e si respira un’ottima atmosfera. Camerieri per nulla invadenti ma gentili, cordiali e simpatici. Penso di tornarci per riprendere assolutamente l’amatriciana e private qualche secondo.

Service was very slow, the fried meatballs were not good, but that’s our personal opinion. It was an okay experience. I think there are other better places to go in Rome.

The Jewish artichokes were the best I have had. The cacio e pepe was excellent. We also shared a osso bucco. We had plenty of food for two people. The service was good. Despite the reviews I had read. Felt like a real Roman non tourist spot.

Ottimo il carciofo alla giudia e le fettuccine carciofo, guanciale e pecorino. Buono il tiramisù a modo loro, molto corposo e direi senza caffè. Buona ma mi aspettavo di più dalla carbonara. Bella la location, un po’ freddo il servizio.

Locale carino e cibo di ottima qualità! Tagliere di salumi troppo costoso e poco fornito per 2 persone, due fette di porchetta 8€ mi pare alquanto eccessivo, allo stesso modo del pane a 5€! Piatto di rigatoni alla carbonara invece abbondante! Consiglio il locale per la qualità e per la facilità di trovare parcheggio rispetto a locali simili a Trastevere!

Bel ristorante a Testaccio dove mangiare tipico Romano atmosfera non troppo suggestiva più ristorante meno osteria caratteristica, ma si mangia benissimo!

We dined in the outdoor patio at Flavio al Velavevodetto while visiting Rome five years ago and had an amazing dinner. This time it was the complete opposite, a horrible disappointment. To start, we were walked through the outdoor patio, through the restaurant, and back out to a small outdoor area with three tables that seemed to be where food was delivered during the day and trash was carried out after closing. It had zero atmosphere and our table even looked into a window in the women’s toilet area where we could see each diner take a seat. Our waitress admitted it was her first night and even struggled to open and pour the wine. The wine glasses had a stale smell as if they were not properly cleaned or thoroughly dried before they were stored upside down. This completely ruined our wine drinking experience. An inattentive staff dropped off appetizers and pasta dishes haphazardly, not once checking in on us. . Whereas five years ago our Cacio e Pepe was piping hot and cooked to al dente perfection, this time it was tepid and overcooked. Needless to say we did not order dessert. We did notice there is now a second location in Rome and a third in Milan. I think that expansion and growth of this once fine dining spot has taken a toll on both the quality of the food and the overall dining experience.
