We booked months ahead after hearing a lot of good things about FaV but while our meal was okay there was nothing that lifted it above other better meals we happened across in Rome and elsewhere - maybe the bar was set too high? Maybe we ordered the wrong mains? The English menu could certainly use a re-write as it’s very vague and what turned up was far from what I expected based on it - staff had a little English but weren’t really equipped to help too much if you couldn’t speak/understand Italian - after expecting so much we left a little disappointed

Molto delicioso and delightful service from the 2 woman who waited on us. We thoroughly enjoyed it and have already recommended the restaurant to 4 people.

Tutto molto buono, locale accogliente, ed il personale molto gentile. Cibo di qualità. Ottime specialità romane. Carta dei vini importante. Ritorneremo sicuramente. Stazione taxi a pochi passi.

The attentive wait staff and delicious food made my birthday dinner of typical Roman food wonderful. The Tiramisu was absolutely, hands down, the best I have ever tasted. Would recommend to anyone coming to Rome wanting to eat well.

Всё просто превосходно! Хорошее обслуживание, еда понравилась. Не осилили всё что заказали, забрали с собой, завернули, упаковали, пробку для бутылки принесли ) Весьма рекомендую. Резервировать надо заранее, но это легко и просто делается на сайте.

Excellent meal and atmosphere - portions are almost too big, but we will really enjoyed it. Beautiful setting and friendly service. Will be back when in ROme again

Tutto molto buono, piatti tipici, carbonara, grigia e amatriciana di alto livello con marcata presenza di pecorino romano e accompagnati dal miglior guanciale provato dino adesso a Roma. Ottimo il dolce con la ricotta.

Tonnarelli cacio e pepe spettacolari così come tutti i primi, la possibilità di prenotare on line dal sito è un ottimo servizio. ottima selezione di vini. Consigliato

I've been with there on a friday evening. The food was ok. The worst part of the night was the atmosphere of the restaurant and the attitude of the waiters. It was a just a big bright room without any atmosphere. More like an staff canteen. And the waiters just brought the food and drinks without any feeling for their job.

It was a great meal but I'm not sure if the waiters were just aloof or didn't like Asian tourists because they didn't treat us very kindly.

Abbiamo cenato qui in 5. Carciofi alla giudia molto buoni. Carbonara e rigatoni alla pajata speciali. Cacio e pepe un po' troppo pepata, sovrastava il cacio. Servizio buono anche se hanno portato le birre e il vino sbagliati (ma non ha inficiato la cena). Abbiamo mangiato bene.

Delicious rustic food in a busy Italian environment. Felt like a local! The staff were very helpful and spoke English. We particularly enjoyed their sausage and short rib fettuccine special.

Ottimo locale in un quartiere tipico di Roma, Testaccio. L'osteria offre piatti tipici romani come i rigatoni alla carnbonara,amatriciana, cacio e pepe etc. Consigliato soprattuto per i primi e i secondi di carne

Porzioni abbondanti e piatti ben preparati. Cucina romana con un’ottima fettina panata e polpette di bollito fritte nella tradizione. Da ripetere. Poco assortimento di dolce.

Ottima cucina romana. Servizio cortese, rapido e puntuale. Abbiamo assaggiato la cacio e pepe, gricia, carbonara e polpette di bollito con cicoria ripassata e patate al forno. Poi tiramisù e crostata di amarene. Un modo per riscoprire i veri sapori della cucina romana, senza innovazioni o contaminazioni inutili. Ottimo!

Quando si cerca la cucina Romana quella vera, di qualità non bisogna aver dubbi. Il tutto accompagnato da una cantina che farebbe invidia ad uno stellato. Grazie per mantenere sempre la qualità al massimo.

Cucina tradizionale molto ben eseguita, servizio cordiale in ambiente tipico. Un poco lunghi i tempi di attesa, ma va bene cosi’ per la garanzia di preparazioni espresse.

Highly recommend fried or boiled meatballs (polpette), wild greens (chicoria). Bear in mind boiled meatballs has no side dish, whereas fried version comes with chicoria and potatoes

Amazing basic Roman food in an atmospheric venue with a great wine list will definitely be back and recommended for any trip to Rome even though it’s a bit off the beaten track

My wife and I eat at Flavio for lunch on a Saturday. It was a memorable experience. The restaurant was competely filled with large groups, mostly families, of six, ten, twelve or more people, all apparently enjoying themselves as much as we were. The staff was extremely pleasant and very professional. The food was excellent. Each dish that we ordered was among the best that we had had in our week-long stay in Rome. The wine list was good and well-priced. The entire experience was as pleasant as one could want.

Pastas are great! Husband loved oxtail. Food is delicious, atmosphere/service is “ok” but the food makes up for it. Worth the trek to get to!

ambiente molto accogliente, i piatti abbondanti e gustosi che testimoniano molto bene i sapori della cucina romana tradizionale. Fra tutti i ristoranti i che ho provato questo è sicuramente il migliore, anche se lo ritengo un po' costoso.
