We had a fantastic lunch, the carbonara was good, Cacio e Pepe was outstanding. House wine excellent. We really enjoyed the experience and we will be back.
Rules: 1. Make a reservation. We got there for our 8 o’clOct table and the place was packed not long after. 2. Plan to eat for two hours, 3, Order the house wine. The wine list is lovely but the house red is perfectly good and for a tenner cannot be.beaten. 4. Order the Cechio e Pepe. There will be other pasta dishes and they will all be good, but order the Cechio e Pepe. Magical 5. Split a secundi. The portions are mammoth. 6. If you order antipasti just forget dessert. The caponata is delightful. 7. Eat on the terrace if the weather is good.
Best eating experience of our entire visit to Rome. Lovely staff, terrific wholesome food from the organic Olive Oil to the whole wheat bread to everything else, at a reasonable price, full of well dressed local people eating real food, not a tourist spot for pizza munching bus tours. If all you want is pizza go somewhere else. You will have to make a reservation well in advance. PLEASE NOTE Unlike the Americas the tip is never included as an option on the Visa slip. Make sure you leave cash on the table, they deserve it
My wife and I eat at Flavio for lunch on a Saturday. It was a memorable experience. The restaurant was competely filled with large groups, mostly families, of six, ten, twelve or more people, all apparently enjoying themselves as much as we were. The staff was extremely pleasant and very professional. The food was excellent. Each dish that we ordered was among the best that we had had in our week-long stay in Rome. The wine list was good and well-priced. The entire experience was as pleasant as one could want.
My wife and I visited Rome for the first time and saw many recommendations for this restaurant. We made a reservation and were greeted promptly and directed to a lovely table in the back. The carbonara is the best we have ever had and lived up to the hype. My only regret is not being able to stay in Rome linger to sample more of their amazing menu. Friendly staff and speedy service in a lovely part of town. When we return to Rome we will be back indeed.
Dinner was fantastic. Antipasto: burrata con anchovies and zucchini flowers were both delicious. Ravioli was good as a pasta dish. Then came the main course: ossobuco and pork leg with potatoes. Both were amazingly delicious, but the pork leg blew us away. Best main course dish I've had in Rome, or Italia, for that matter. Bottle of house wine was delicious. Very reasonably priced at 79 euros for this multi course meal with wine. Will definitely return!
