We have eaten at Buca Mario several times so we were looking forward to this visit. We arrived on time for our reservation and ended up being seated at a table in the reception area. Because of the constant stream of people coming in and the waitstaff standing no more than 5 feet from our table our dinner was neither relaxing or enjoyable. The service was not good. Our waiter pretty much ignored us the entire time, didn’t pour our wine, didn’t slice our steak. It was very disappointing to spend 200 euros on a dinner we didn’t enjoy at all. We will not return to Buca Mario again.

What a wonderful dining experience for our first time in Florence. Beautiful interior, wonderful atmosphere, food and Chianti. Our waiter, Aldo, was the best.

Heard this place was amazing. The caprese salad was literally just sliced tomatoes (not cooked at all or seasoned) mozzarella balls, and a tiny bit of arugula. And charge outrageously for it. The Gorgonzola gnocchi wasn’t good. The lasagna was good, but not for the price. Overall too expensive for what they’re offering.

It was our honeymoon and we got an exceptional treatment from everyone! Specially from Franco who spoke spanish and made our experience extra special! Gratzie!!!

Lovely, family-owned restaurant. Very attentive and efficient service. Excellent menu. Broad selection of wines. Plus a cart of delicious desserts. One of the best in Florence.

Buca Mario is an amazing restaurant - the food was delicious and well worth it. It's hard to get in though, you have to make reservations well in advance.

Delicious lasagna, espresso martinis, and loved the dessert cart. Also the limoncello and our waiter was amazing.

We started dinner with a cheese plate. It was wonderful and huge! We actually dialed back our dinner order because the appetizer was so large. We ended up splitting dinners which were very good. The service was great, warm, and friendly. We will return without question.

Aldo was the best waiter! Food was fantastic- especially the lasagna!

Beautiful restaurant, they provided my group of 8 with a private room, wait staff was funny, warm and efficient. I highly recommend Buca Maria , steaks were exceptional , also sea bass !

We enjoyed our evening at Buca Mario. While I appreciate its high season, I don’t think it’s reasonable to be seated at 19:25 when you have a 19:00 reservation. They need to improve the way they greet and seat guests. Beyond that, once seated good and service were excellent!

Just amazing! Tomasso (our server) was so attentive! Everyone was very welcoming. We had a FABULOUS dining experience. I see why the reviews are so good and the lineups so long.

Pls note even though you have a reservation, you have to get in a line that wraps around the corner, it moves pretty quickly. Once inside we were treated like family! The owners are warm and inviting, the food and wine were fantastic.

My husband and I came here on our honeymoon and we haven’t stopped talking about it. The staff were incredible, kind and genuinely interested in making sure we had a lovely experience. The food was some of the best we’ve ever had. We will remember this meal and this experience for the rest of our lives.

What a perfect dinner! Our severs were the definition of hospitality, the owner even greeted everyone at the door. Can’t miss dishes are the lasagna, gnochetti, and really any fillet / bistecca. The dessert cart is the cherry on top! We can’t wait to return. Highly recommend!

Food was delicious- homemade ravioli, fillet of beef cooked perfectly, zucchini flowers, wine options and expresso martini s . Service was impeccable- must have reservations.

The waiters and owner were very nice, and service was good. The food was nothing to write home about for the value.

First time at Buca Mario and my family and I had a great time. The food, service and atmosphere were excellent. Definitely come hungry because the portion sizes are good especially with the steak. The fillet I had was big. The price is more on the upper side but the menu caters to a wide range of price points with a little something for everyone. Buca Mario is a definite recommend, loved it.

A great experience overall, quite expensive but rewarding. If only it was cheaper !
