Ristorante Buca Mario

We ate at Buca Mario over 20 years ago. This time around we brought our children and the experience was just as incredible as it was the first time. The food, environment, waiters, owners- everything is top notch! We cannot wait to go back!!

Every time I return to Firenze I will always try to have dinner in this place. Bistecca Fiorentina was amazing among with La Torta della Nona! Staff is charming as well as the owners who are there welcoming customers and supervising everything, nevertheless the time for the service takes a little bit too much!

Did not enjoy. Service was very slow. I asked for a water and was never given one. Also asked for a drink menu and the waiter never came to ask for my drink. Lasagna was fine but steak was not good. I don’t care about the rareness, steak was super chewy and didn’t have any flavor. Think this place is very overhyped.

Nando was an incredible waiter! Love the food and the service. Restaurant was lively and loud, with happy people. We didn’t mind the noise at all. Made for a fun dining experience! Was gifted an apron on the way out the door!

Generous portions and excellent service. cheese platter and fried zucchini were nice starters. Osso buco and pasta dishes were very good, but the T-bone steak was under cooked and we weren’t asked if we wanted to take home the leftovers. Desserts were mediocre. I’ve had better meals for the price.

It was a fantastic experience for me and for my son. We will certainly miss the T-bone steak and comeback some day.

The appetizer hasn't arrived yet, the main course has already arrived. The service attitude is average, maybe the business is too good. I may not come again next time.

Overall the food was delicious, but the steak was a bit tough. Even rare, it was very chewy. The other dishes were fantastic. The atmosphere was very vibey, but HOT! 🥵 We enjoyed our experience, but it wasn’t as amazing as I had hoped.

This has been the best restaurant my family and I have been to in Italy. From the food to the service. Got to talk to the owners and it’s was like we were with family. Will definitely be coming back not only to Florence but to Buca Mario!

This place is extremely overhyped. The staff is not friendly, and the reviews are true about them seating all of the American tourists in a far back room. The Florentine Steak is basically raw, cold in the middle. It was painful to get through. We were really looking forward to the experience but ended up not getting out of the place fast enough.

Fabulous food, artichoke hearts arugula and gorgonzola cream on bread! Fried zucchini flowers, lamb chops, Florintine tripe, tagliatelle with wild boea sauce, all to die for. Beautiful restaurant and Aldo, our server sang to us again and again. Yes, he was a super-server as well. Oh, great wine list, too!

Everything was fine, except the waiter seemed to rush us in order to turn the table.

The food was amazing. We ordered 2 firsts and 2 seconds and were so full we couldn’t touch dessert but the dessert cart looked amazing. Whilst it’s on the more pricey side it was worth it!
