The service and food were good BUT the heat was unbearable. What could have been a good experience turned into suffering. We couldn't enjoy the dinner at all. We don't understand how a restaurant of this prestige doesn't have a good air conditioning system, it's very disappointing. Based on my experience, I don't recommend it in summer.

The staff were very friendly. The food was amazing! The bistecca allá Florentina was cooked perfectly. Excellent atmosphere. We had a delightful time.

I had a wonderful fish dish and my daughter had the beef filet. Which was gamey and had no flavor. (I make a better steak at home for sure.) Service was good and so was dessert. If her meal would have been good we would have loved the place.

Il locale era molto bello, gli spaghetti con cozze e calamari erano meravigliosi. Ci é piaciuta un sacco la esperienza. Ma devo anche diré che il camariere é stato un po' maleducato.

Wonderful staff and warm welcome - personalised attention from our own waiter who was really knowledgable and guided us through menu and wine choices that would work for what we wanted. The food was sublime - don’t miss the cheese platter - the Gorgonzola with chestnut honey combined with the house Prosecco is a taste combination that will last. We then opted for the T-bone steak - it was so succulent and tasty: simple perfection! If you can afford it, come you won’t regret it

Average food at a very high price. Paying for the hype and reputation of the restaurant. Service was good though.

We made a reservation here based on reviews and recommendations. We didn't order wine with dinner because we had just come from an all day wine tasting experience and immediately our service changed. The tables all around us received a better service. We had the Florentine Steak for one (only cooked rare), a filet with potatoes and mushrooms, and squash blossoms. All the food was good, but we left feeling disappointed as this was our last meal in Italy and the service difference was noticeable.

After doing our research, we made a reservation at Buca Mario. However, we felt very rushed by the waiter. Because we had read such good reviews and saw the Michelin stars, our expectations for this restaurant were the highest during our vacation and we were looking forward to this the most. So we also decided to go for a starter, main dish and dessert with coffee and cocktails and good wine. We were very unhappy that the waiter rushed us through all the dishes. We were still working on our main dish or the dessert cart was already in front of us. Even when my girlfriend did not finish her dessert and I was still eating he was already ready with the limoncello and bill which I had not asked him for. It feels like we were in America and not in Italy we are not lost tourists but Europeans who book a table and want to enjoy our food and drinks. After all I am paying good money for it and then I wish to be treated like this.

Such a wonderful experience having dinner here at Buca Mario! The staff are so kind, welcoming and friendly. We had the most amazing steak and the famous lasagna, but the absolute highlight was the dessert trolly with the Tiramisu of dreams! Prices were very reasonable for the portion sizes and the quality. Thank you so much for a lovely evening

An amazing place, such hearth warming staff. The food was great too, and in consideration of the restaurant’s image, a good value for the money.

Seated a little early, temperature was uncomfortably warm, steak was undercooked (ordered medium rare, came out barely cooked on either side) before it was overcooked (asked it be cooked just a little longer and came back medium to medium well, waiter didn’t stick around to ask how it was) but the main dishes tasted very good. Very good cut of steak. Caprese salad was underwhelming - four pieces of mozzarella that looked they they came out of a package next to a handful of cherry tomatoes that were cut in half on top of a small bed of arugula. The spaghetti was very good- cooked perfectly, and the meat sauce taste was very good. Staff was friendly. Great ambiance. Energetic feel.

We ate at Buca Mario over 20 years ago. This time around we brought our children and the experience was just as incredible as it was the first time. The food, environment, waiters, owners- everything is top notch! We cannot wait to go back!!

Every time I return to Firenze I will always try to have dinner in this place. Bistecca Fiorentina was amazing among with La Torta della Nona! Staff is charming as well as the owners who are there welcoming customers and supervising everything, nevertheless the time for the service takes a little bit too much!

Did not enjoy. Service was very slow. I asked for a water and was never given one. Also asked for a drink menu and the waiter never came to ask for my drink. Lasagna was fine but steak was not good. I don’t care about the rareness, steak was super chewy and didn’t have any flavor. Think this place is very overhyped.

Nando was an incredible waiter! Love the food and the service. Restaurant was lively and loud, with happy people. We didn’t mind the noise at all. Made for a fun dining experience! Was gifted an apron on the way out the door!

Generous portions and excellent service. cheese platter and fried zucchini were nice starters. Osso buco and pasta dishes were very good, but the T-bone steak was under cooked and we weren’t asked if we wanted to take home the leftovers. Desserts were mediocre. I’ve had better meals for the price.

We loved it! Wonderful food, fantastic atmosphere and the staff couldn't be friendlier.
