Ristorante Buca Mario

Excellent dinner with family at Buco Mario. One of the best restaurants we have ever been to. You must visit while in Florence!

I had been waiting 16 years to come back to this place and it was better than I remembered. The wait times are non existent if you have a reservation. I can’t say what it would be like if you didn’t but they fill up quick. The service was amazing. We were greeted by everyone working there individually as we walked in. The atmosphere was nice except for the non locals that were sitting behind us speaking loudly about how much student debt they me paid off, who slept with who and what designer bad they were planing on buying. Leave it to us Americans to come somewhere else and embarrass ourselves. Everything else was perfect, rustic, and delicious. The florentine steak is the way to go if you can handle it.

We had a wonderful dinner. The waiters were very kind. The food was delicious. The pasta, lasagna and meat were really excellent. We loved the desserts. Thank you Buca Mario.

The food was okay, expensive but at least big portions. But the noise level was crazy, lots of people crammed in and all tourists at the back with no soft furnishings to absorb the very loud noise. The locals seem to get tables at the front of the restaurant which was a lot quieter. I would not return

As soon as you step into the restaurant, you’re greeted with welcoming smiles until you’re seated, everyone we walked past said hello. The food was amazing, great wine selection and 10/10 service.

As always the food was excellent and the service impeccable.

As soon as we entered, everyone was very welcoming. Our food was very good. Our Mail server was very neutral. It was very obvious that he wasn’t happy. Our young waiter with short dark hair was not happy and he was not sad. He was robotic taking our order and giving our food. With the welcoming of the entrance of 3 to 4 different people, I expected more from our waiter. I was really looking forward to the joyous Italian experience that I could see throughout the rest of the restaurant. Everything else was great, other than our waiter. We still tipped him 10%, which is the normal for a good meal in Italy, as the meal was very good

Fantastico! Our dining experience was everything we hoped for and more! Our server, Gerardo went above and beyond.. We were 35 minutes late for our reservation and Buco Mario were very accommodating! Thank you for a once in a lifetime experience!

10/5/2024 7:00pm our reservation was the Best meal and service by far ever in Italy. The lasagna was the best my husband had ever had. And they gave each lady an apron at the exit. Wonderful night!

The food came out very fast, My name is Claudio Bologna and expected a traditional Italian meal which could be enjoyed without feeling rushed. This will be our last time dining at Boca Mario as the experience is now catered to flipping tables as fast as possible

Waited to be seated in a line outside after arriving for our 7 pm reservations. Food came way too quickly, felt very rushed, like they wanted us to eat fast and leave. Our appetizers arrived after our main course, and part of someone in our party’s main course did not arrive until we asked for it along with the appetizers. Server was nice, but it felt very touristy. Food was good

Without a doubt our finest dining experience since arriving in Italy a week ago! Lake Como and Venice didn’t come close-the T-bone Florentine was cooked to perfection and literally melted in your mouth! Servers treated us like family and the hostess was pure joy! The atmosphere was elegant AND comfortable! Thank you for creating a memory for our lifetimes! We will be back!

The Gorgonzola gnocchi was amazing. Great wine list. Good service, but they do expect a tip. Downside of being a popular tourist spot. Reservations are a must.

Great experience after our first time back to this restaurant in 11 years. The lasagna and ossobuco were just as delicious as we remembered.

The atmosphere was very nice and the food was very good. However, when you order the expensive steak for two-which was very good-but you eat only half of it-I expected a doggy bag, and it never came back. I didn’t want to be rude so I didn’t say anything, but I felt that should be expected. That was $70 of steak paid for and given back to the restaurant The motzarella cheese was AMAZING.

A brilliant evening out and amazing food and service. I do feel the prices are a bit out of sync with other good restaurants and have run ahead quote a bit, but I guess with 90% of the clientele being Americans, it is now catering to that market. That being said, it was a great night, even at the high price.

Fabulous!!! Perfect service, delicious food and the cleanest bathroom I’ve seen in Italy! And then there’s the apron! We highly recommend it!!

Everything was wonderful. We were celebrating our anniversary and received complementary glass of Prosecco and even a little gift when we left. The food top notch. The Florentine steak was so tender and the pasta as well as desserts were delicious. Would recommend 1000%.

Excellent service and amazing food and ambience we will be back again

I came here on the very last night of a week-long visit. By far the best place we ate! I can't say enough about the server and the unique dishes. The truffle ravioli, Fresh Pappardelle with Wild Boar Ragù* Nostrale delle Colline Fiorentine, and the filet with mushrooms were to die for!!!
