Tremendous atmosphere and even better food Our waiter was amazing. A must do in Florence for dinner.

The food was really delicious, but the waiters were extremely rude. They shamelessly asked for tips even though they didn’t do anything special. When showing me to my seat, they just stared at my face for a few seconds without even greeting me. Ridiculous. I also read in other reviews that they only treat people nicely if they’re from a culture where tipping is common, and I think that’s true.

Food was delicious particularly liked to Mushrooms Salad and Pappardelle Wild Board, unbelievable. Portions are large so a few pasta to share would be a good idea for a group. Service was also excellent would highly recommend Buca Mario

Didn’t meet expectations. The food was okay and the feeling of standing in a line getting into a rush in the restaurant and being hosted like in Disneyland just kills the Florence experience feelings that you can get for less in many other places around town.

I had carpaccio with truffles and it had no flavor at all and then tagliatelle with truffles and same thing- just tasted like buttered noodle with a hint of truffle. So many people there that it was unpleasant. And I was by myself and got stuck in the front room with no atmosphere -and I made my reservation months ago.

We loved visiting Buca Mario. It was a beautiful restaurant, even though our steak was rare, it was warm all the way through and quite delicious with the cream and peppercorn. The cappellacci with meat sauce was flavorful and filling, and our waiter recommended a lovely white wine (even though we are not big wine drinkers) we loved it. Gerrardo was fantastic! Very attentive and warm. We felt like family!

Firstly it began with having to wait 15 minutes for my waiter to come and ask if I wanted to order a drink. I found the service to be the worst I’ve ever received. I observed the waiter being very friendly with all the other tables he had, offering to take their photos and even singing. The waiter spoke less than 5 words to me. My food I ordered the lasagna and it was cold in the middle and very bland. Barely any meat sauce and thick pasta sheets. The waiter didn’t even check to see if I was enjoying my meal or needed anything else. Again the waiter gave special treatment to all the other tables and I was treated horribly. It was quite embarrassing.

Sono andato pieno di aspettative, con una prenotazione fatta in anticipo... i tavoli sono molto vicini, il cameriere non è stato per niente gentile e il cibo era insapore... Sono rimasto deluso... Capisco che queste siano esperienze, ma la mia non è stata buona.

Locale storico di Firenze. Il personale è di una gentilezza unica. A noi ci ha servito il signor Aldo, cameriere d’altri tempi molto simpatico, gentile, cortese e soprattutto esperto del suo mestierie. Abbiamo mangiato una bistecca alla fiorentina con contorno di patate arrosto e abbiamo bevuto una bottiglia di vino rosso ottima a dir poco, carne di altissima qualità, tutto molto e troppo buono! Consigliatissimo, saprò dove mangiare quando tornerò a Firenze. Ah dimenticavo, dopo aver pagato il conto, stavamo andando via e il signore che stava all’ingresso ci ha regalato anche un pensierino per ricordo di questa bellissima serata. Grazie.

We enjoyed this restaurant but probably wouldn’t return if we were back in Florence. The food was good, not great. It was all tourists and the restaurant, though cool, was so large it didn’t feel very authentic

The best experience! Amazing service. The food was some of the best in Florence. I had the grandmas lasagnas and my husband had the florentine steak (for 1). We both could not get enough!! It was the best lasagna I’ve ever had and the steak was cooked perfectly. We finished with tiramisu and it was so light but creamy. Some of the better ones that I’ve had. HIGHLY recommend!!

This restaurant is amazing! The staff exceptional (our waiter was Roberto who was extremely helpful). The food was the best we've had in Italy to date, especially the lasagne! Lastly, wine choices were incredible. Will be back and recommending to friends.

one of the best meals that we have had in Florence. you see it on social media for good reason. make sure you book a reservation well in advance because it is always booked up. we initially had a reservation booked for 7 but had our hotel call and change it to 915 and that was perfect. the place was still packed full at that time. service was great and atmosphere was really nice.

This place was my favorite restaurant in Italy thus far, and I’ve come to visit a handful of times. The food was amazing. The lasagna was my favorite. Steak was very tender and all sides were delicious. I am contemplating trying to get a second reservation on my trip…

The crostini pomedoro had toast that could nearly break a tooth. It was difficult to eat. The mixed seafood pasta was very good but low on quantity of seafood. The beef was prepared very well but the potatoes served were just average. The cafe and limoncello were perfect. The wait staff was nice and did their jobs well however my husband's chair was bumped by the staff more than once during our meal. The ambience was very nice once the loud group behind us left. Perhaps it was just an off night.
